However, as a sole proprietor with two ruptured discs, lifting the 80lb top half of the SG200 by myself was out of the question. In my search for something ready-made that I could modify to work with the SG200's, I came across a couple of different brands of mobile cabinet jacks. I liked the one made by E-Z Lift so I contacted them, described what I was after, and asked if they could modify the dimensions of their 24" unit to my specs. The owner, Leo Lapat said he could, and quoted me $975 for the customized unit (the standard unit for 24" cabinets is $775). 4 days later, Leo called to say it was done and would arrive in 5 days. With shipping to Seattle, the cost was just over $1000. Spread across 20 machines = $50/machine; not too bad, when weighted against the cost of hurting my back, and not being able to move or work at all! The lift arrived on time (extremely well packaged too; no UPS damage) and was just what I needed. The E-Z Lift is very well made of high quality aluminum and strong maple. It comes in 4 parts that assemble without tools, so you can easily take it in and out of your car. I'll also be using the lift to put the top half into the back of my SUV for transport to customer sites. If you want to get one of these too, here's the company info.
