Detailed Information
In an emergency law enforcement and rescue squad personnel will invariably break a window or kick in a door as a last resort to gain entry into a residence. Breaking a window can lead to serious bodily injury from sharp, broken glass and kicking in a door will lead to expensive repairs to the lock, door and frame. In most cases insurance policy deductibles will not cover the cost of these repairs, leaving the homeowner responsible.
Almost all hotels are now equipped with electronic door locks. these locks frequently jam or break making it difficult to open the door from the outside. Prior to the invention of the E-Z Door Frame Spreader the most common ways to open one of these doors is: #1. Place a 2 x 4 a little larger than the opening between the left and right side of the frame as close to the lock as possible. Hit the 2 x 4 with a small, hand held sledge hammer hard enough to spread the frame. #2. Drill out the latch portion of the lock. There are clear disadvantages with each of these methods. The frame and surrounding wallpaper can be damaged using the 2 x 4 and sledge hammer. Also, using this method will lead to noise that hotel guests should not be subject to. Drilling out the latch requires an electric drill, extension cord and electrical outlet. This method also creates noise and if the latch is drilled too deep it will need to be replaced. This is an unnecessary expense and a time consuming procedure.
When the E-Z Door Frame Spreader is used, the above problems will be a thing of the past. The innovative, compact, U.S. patented tool is constructed entirely of steel, is hand operated, needs no electric and weighs under 10 lbs. Each end block of the tool is padded with commercial grade felt. It is easily adjusted for the proper size door opening using a quick release pin that is inserted into a hole in the main tube of the tool. It is capable of spreading the door frame of 30", 32" and 36" wide doors (most common door sizes) with ease, leaving no damage to the door, lock or frame. It is easy to use and adjust for different size doors and will spread the frame in less than one minute.

The wrench has a 3/8" hole at one end and the body of the tool has a threaded stud. Wrench is attached to body of spreader with threaded knob. Knob needs to be removed along with wrench and re attached to threaded stud so it is not lost or misplaced. When finished with the wrench, re attach it to the tool using the threaded knob. Wrench will never be lost or misplaced.
